Chittagong Division

Chittagong Division is geographically the largest of the eight administrative divisions of Bangladesh. Chittagong Division is subdivided into eleven districts (zilas) and thence into 99 sub-districts (Upazilas). The first six districts listed below comprise the north-western portion (37.6%) of the division.

Chittagong is the hotspot for travelers who want to see Bangladesh.  Chittagong district, Bandarban, Rangamati & Cox’s Bazar enrich the value of this division. There are up to 30 tourist spots which gives you the raw beauty of Bangladesh.

Khulna Division

Khulna Division is one of the eight divisions of Bangladesh. It is part of the Ganges River delta or Greater Bengal Delta. Other rivers include the Madhumati River, the Bhairab River, and the Kopotokkho River. The region also includes several islands in the Bay of Bengal. 

This division creates its value, especially for the Sundarbans. The Sundarbans is a mangrove area in the delta formed by the confluence of the Ganges, Brahmaputra, and Meghna Rivers in the Bay of Bengal. Besides this, this division bears some historical spots like Shait Gambuz Mosque, Khan Jahan Ali’s tomb Complex, The shrine of Lalon Fakir, etc.

Mymensingh Division

Mymensingh Division was created in 2015 from districts previously composing the northern part of Dhaka Division. It is one of the eight administrative divisions of Bangladesh. The Greater Mymensingh region (Mymensingh District along with five other neighboring districts) was created as a Mymensingh district by the British Indian government in 1787. Later it was reorganized in two phases into six districts: Mymensingh, Kishoreganj, Netrakona, Jamalpur, Tangail, and Sherpur.

Mymensingh division is renowned for Bangladesh Agricultural University, Jalchhatra, Birisiri, Susong Durgapur and Bijoypur, Jainul Abedin Museum, etc.

Rajshahi Division

Rajshahi Division consists of 8 districts, 70 Upazilas (the next lower administrative tier), and 1,092 Unions (the lowest administrative tier). This division is the most valuable division in Bangladesh. It has an excellent rail and road communication infrastructure. 

Rajshahi division is one of the most historical sites because it was dominated by various Rajas, Maharajas, and Zamindars. It creates its important for Mahasthangarh, Sompur Bihar, Bagha Mosque, Kusumba Mosque, Sona Mosque, Chalan Beel, etc.

Sylhet Division

Sylhet Division is the northeastern division of Bangladesh. It is bordered by the Indian states of Meghalaya, Assam, and Tripura to the north, east, and south respectively. The entire Sylhet region was a single district within the Surma Valley and Hill Districts Division as part of the Assam Province. In 1947, a referendum was held in the Sylhet district, voting in favor of succession to Pakistan.

The region is considered one of the most picturesque and archaeologically rich regions in South Asia. If you want to see the beauty of nature then you must come to Sylhet. Though it has only 5 districts there are up to 20 tourist spots. Some notable spots are Jaflong, Ratargul, Bichanakandi, Hazrat Shahjalal Mazar Sharif, Madhabpur Lake, Sathchori, Tanguar Haor, etc.
